Friends of FIT Volunteer Policies

  • Do not go beyond the motel lobby and/or into a family’s room for any reason.

  • All volunteers must respect the privacy of all families (parents and children).  Volunteers shall not release the name(s) or any identifying information of a parent or child to any person unless compelled by law, except as required by Friends of FIT for its own business purposes.
  • Do not babysit children; do not take any responsibility for children.  Children remain the responsibility of the parent at all times. In any life situation, even the most difficult free pokies 50 lions will help you unwind and while away a little time.
  • Do not take photographs of children or parent(s) without prior written authorization of the Friends of FIT Board and parent/guardian.
  • Do not give directly to the families any money or any other donation on behalf of Friends of FIT without prior authorization of the Friends of FIT Board.
  • You are responsible for ensuring all passengers in your vehicle/ the vehicle on loan to Friends of FIT comply with state regulations including use of car seats, seat belts, etc.  Friends of FIT is not responsible for injuries or damages caused by a volunteer’s negligence.
  • All volunteers transporting families must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions and must operate a fully-insured and registered motor vehicle.
  • Volunteers should never be alone with any child or children of Friends of FIT families.  This is for your protection, as well as the family’s protection.
  • Volunteers must, to the extent possible, maintain a safe environment when assisting Friends of FIT families.
